*** SEPTEMBER 2007 UPDATE! ***

I am in the process, once again, of updating this site!! I'll be tweaking the contents over the next few weeks, so keep checking in ... I hope to have it done by the beginning of October!

"...But we need to remember that most stories operate almost wholly on a literal level and that, even in highly symbolic stories, the majority of the details are purely literal. A story is not an excuse for an exercise in ingenuity. It is better, indeed, to miss the symbolic meanings of a story than to pervert its meaning by 'discovering' symbols that are nonexistent. Better to miss the boat than to jump wildy for it and drown."

from Perrine's "Literature: Structure, Sound, and Sense" English 102 college text book, 8th edition. Chapter six (symbol, allegory and fantasy), page 295

WOW! This site certainly took a back-burner ... again.  You know how life gets in the way sometimes -- school, work, family, and the "daily duties" take up a great deal of my time.  I apologize for not getting this done quicker.

Since I last logged on, the final book in the series, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," has been released as has the fifth movie, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix."  (Filming on movie 6, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" begins in the next few weeks.)

Currently, Fall is upon us and I am in the process of debating the series with representatives Laura Mallor and a local man who's main reason for hate of the series is ... drum roll please ... that stupid Onion Article that is still prevalent in certain fundamentalist circles.  IT WAS A HOAX PEOPLE!!  This man actually contacted the local paper and they ran a story about him and his qualms about the book. They didn't mention his literature reason (again: the Onion article).  Crazy ...

At any ratel, thank you for your patience.

Don't forget to sign the guestbook before you leave.  If you feel that I've made a mistake (which is possible, as I have not proof-
read one page of this site yet), please email me!
